Opening Times

We are open for visitors every Thursday morning from 10:00 - 12:00. Entrance is free, although we do encourage visitors to consider making a donation towards the upkeep of the Old Chapel.

Volunteer stewards are on hand to answer visitors' questions, but if you wish to simply spend some quiet time that's fine, just let the stewards know and they will leave you alone!

Private group visits can be arranged by emailing info@tolpuddleoldchapeltrust.org

Board Vacancies

The Tolpuddle Old Chapel Trust is seeking expressions of interest in joining its Board of Trustees. We currently have one vacancy.

If you have an interest in heritage buildings and a few hours a week to spare, to work with the existing trustees to help shape and develop the Chapel’s potential, this opportunity could be for you.

You can find out more about being a charity trustee here.

Latest News

We have recently completed our successful project funded by Historic England: ‘Tolpuddle Family Lives’. This was part of Historic England’s national programme, ‘Everyday Heritage: Celebrating Working-Class Histories’ and we are very proud to have been part of the programme. We wish to record our sincere thanks to Historic England here for their support. This funding enabled us to put on over fifty events and activities in total between March and November in 2024 without charge.

Tolpuddle Festival 2025

The annual Martyrs Festival will take place in Tolpuddle over the weekend of 18th - 20th July 2025.

The Old Chapel will be open to visitors during the Festival; details of the events we are planning will follow shortly.

During last year's Festival Professor Philip Martin, former Chair of Trustees, gave a talk at the Old Chapel,
‘George Loveless, ultra-radicalism and the Tolpuddle Context’.  Read more about this talk and Click here to watch the video
