Creative Clay for All

We are delighted to be hosting Debbie Clarke of Creative Clay for All

19th September 2024 6:30 – 9:00pm Hand-building functional ware
Learning pottery hand building skills to create your hand-built piece for your home. Suitable for beginners and the more experienced. Debbie will give a demonstration of how to create a functional piece and help you achieve your design ideas. Create a cup and saucer, dip trays, jug, vase or spoons.
£25 including kiln firing.
10th October 2024 6:30 – 9:00pm Present Making
For beginners and anyone that would like a set project, Debbie will be demonstrating how to create a sculptural tealight. You will use engobe colours to decorate your pieces. If you are working on your own project, please let Debbie know the theme so the relevant textures and stamps can be provided.
£25 including kiln firing.
14th October 2024 6:30 – 9:00pm Porcelain Paper Clay
This pure white clay is beautiful for adding textures and colours. The paper burns away in the kiln leaving a strong, lightweight white fired clay. It is ideal for making statement jewellery and Christmas decorations. There will be lots of stamps and cutters to try.
£25 including kiln firing.

All clay pieces will be available approximately 3 weeks after the workshop.

Silver Clay workshop

A hands-on experience to make a stunning piece of jewellery at our workshop led by Rachel Hall of Fusiology Glass Art

  • Learn how to shape, mould and texture your pendant.

Silver Clay is a clay made using recycled silver particles which can be moulded, shaped and textured. Firing or heating results in metal of hallmark quality.


Felting Workshop

We are offering a workshop led by Paula Isaacs to make a felted picture, mounted in a small frame.

Local wool and pre-made pads used plus small glass inserts. Felted pictures of Dorset landmarks can be made.
Cost £20 per workshop

All materials and equipment will be provided.

After a successful year of Dorset Button making, we are again offering opportunities to learn this traditional craft with experienced embroiderer and Dorset button maker, Ros Atkins.
